Job Description
We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and operational Electrical Network Manager to join our Engineering and Maintenance Delivery team and be instrumental in leading the management and implementation of the MTS electrical network rules within the regulatory guidelines framework.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Engineering, this strategic role will lead the Electrical Network function for MTS, provide expertise and ensure MTS meets requirements to maintain the status of electrical system operator.
The role will require in-depth electrical network system operation experience, ideally demonstrated within the railway industry coupled with an ability to provide high level electrical engineering advice to ensure optimum output and MTS continuously meets obligations.
You will also be involved in:
Lead and manage the performance and integrity of MTS electrical assets
Oversee the application of relevant standards and requirements ensuring alignment with all safety regulations and authorities
Oversee training and competence assurance systems
Lead the inspection and acceptance of Low Voltage and High Voltage installations within the MTS network and maintain the interface and connection agreements with other electrical system operators in accordance with the National Electricity Rules
Lead technical and safety investigations into electrical safety matters
Lead the development, amendment and implementation of electrical safety rules, ensuring that all technical staff hold the required accreditation in accordance with the safety rules
Demonstrated experience in developing & managing electrical safety documentation as a distributor running an electrical network
Demonstrated understanding of power system and protection system operations and functions
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You are a strategic operator and have superior demonstrated technical experience and knowledge working within the electrical network industry. Your breadth of exposure is significant, encompassing management of electrical assets within a regulatory authority framework coupled with experience in electric incident investigation and compliance auditing.
You also have excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to form strong stakeholder relationships within a complex environment coupled with the resilience to deliver results.
