About the Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Finance team.
In this role you will bring your talent in data and accounting to support commercial analysis and modelling, month end, reporting and rolling forecasts.
Key Responsibilities include:
Support the transformation of commercial and financial modelling, forecasts and monthly results analysis through business intelligence reporting and dashboards (PowerBI).
Work with stakeholders across the business to drive updates to forecasts, assessment of risks and opportunities.
Be a key contributor to the preparation of total business rolling forecasts.
Own labour forecast management, ensuring timely and accurate updates to cost centre and project coding, labour scenario modelling and analysis.
Prepare month end labour accounting, including recognition of payroll cost allocations, month end cut off accruals, leave provisions.
Support the preparation of month end accruals, including analysis and review of maintenance spend.
Assist in the review of balance sheet items, particularly project accounting / WIP.
Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly cost centre and divisional results reporting.
Contribute to total business performance reporting, including leadership team, shareholder and Board reports.
Provide ad hoc support on various commercial opportunity analysis, such as tender and supplier pricing reviews, insource/outsource strategies, cost reduction opportunities, and other new revenue opportunities.
Support the analysis of financial performance with contract assumptions.
Champion the ongoing maintenance and alignment of financial data and hierarchies across MTS systems, models and processes.
Contribute to a high performance and positive engagement culture aligned with the business’ FAIR values.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You hold a current CA or CPA accreditation with a Bachelor degree (or similar) in accounting.
You have demonstrated skills in understanding and managing financial data, including financial modelling. Your background with Power BI or other business intelligence tools for creating dashboards and reports makes you well suited for this position.
Additionally, your communication skills enable you to advise, build relationships and negotiate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
